Welcome 7th Grade!
How do artists generate ideas? Richard Hunt, our featured artist this quarter, gets ideas from the materials he uses. He collects scrap metal and just starts fusing them together to see what happens. Sometimes when he has a commission, a piece of art that someone pays him to create, he works with the patron to plan the work of art.
This week in the studio seventh grade began to talk about themes in art and chose a broad theme for themselves. Then each student created a web from which to draw out ideas.

Use one of the bubbles from your theme (you should have written it down before leaving class) to fill two facing pages of your sketchbook.
